Premier League Champions Manchester City Have Signed Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale

Confirmed: Aaron Ramsdale Joins Southampton

Premier League champions Manchester City have signed goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Citizens for an undisclosed fee from Arsenal.

Ramsdale rejoined Arsenal in 2021 and was part of the Arsenal squad that reached the Europa League semi-finals that season. He has made 34 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

Ramsdale has also been capped by England at under-21 level and was part of the squad that won the Toulon Tournament in 2018.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: "Aaron is a very good goalkeeper with experience in the Premier League and international football. He has the qualities to be a valuable member of our squad.

Ramsdale is expected to challenge Ederson for the No. 1 spot at Manchester City. Ederson has been City's first-choice goalkeeper since joining the club from Benfica in 2017.

Ramsdale's departure from Arsenal comes after the Gunners signed Brazilian goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina from MLS side Chicago Fire in the summer.
